Panama Authorized Service Providers

DromonClass wish to advise ShipOwners of Panama flagged vessels on the Administration’s requirements on Service Providers.

Following an update in Panama Merchant Marine Circular 258 and as of January 01, 2020, the annual and five-year thorough examination, operational testing, repair and overhaul of lifeboats (including free-fall lifeboats), rescue boats and fast rescue boats and launching appliance and on-load and off-load release gear (including primary and secondary means of launching appliances for freefall lifeboats), rescue boats, fast rescue boats and davit launched liferafts, shall be conducted only by Panama authorized service providers.

MMC-258 lists all the Panama Approved Service Providers that are authorized to conduct such service.

Act now

Ship Owners/ Managers/ Operators of Panama flagged vessels, are requested to verify in advance that service providers performing works onboard their vessels are dully authorized by the Administration, and its personnel is holding the correspondent certification for each make and type of equipment to be worked on.

Dromon Surveyors during surveys on board Panama flagged vessels should take into consideration above requirement and check if the Service Provider is approved by the Administration according to MMC-258.
