United Arab Emirates – restricted Flag States

Notice to: Ship Owners/ Managers/ Operators

The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has issued a circular, No (08) of 2023, which, with effect from 01^st August 2023, adds Tanzanian flagged ships to the current list of flag state ships that are restricted from calling at UAE waters or ports unless classified by an IACS member, or by the Emirates Classification Service – Tasneef.

The current list of flag states required by the UAE to be classified by an IACS member, or by TASNEEF is:

• Albania
• Belize
• Democratic People’s Republic of Korea
• Sao Tome and Principe
• Tonga
• Republic of Congo
• Equatorial Guinea
• United Republic of Tanzania (from 1^st August 2023)
