With an aim to reduce the administrative burden and enhance the productivity and efficiency, we are moving towards digitization by launching e-Certificates to DBS fleet. This latest development comes in line with IMO FAL Guidelines for the use of electronic certificates (FAL 5/Circ.39/Rev 2) and the electronic certificates have the following features:
- Protected from edits, modifications or revisions other than those authorized by DBS;
- A Unique Tracking Number (UTN) used for verification;
- A printable and visible symbol (QR Code) that confirms the source of issuance with easy access from mobile devices;
- Online verification of authenticity
- Available 24/7
DBS Verification website is speeding up electronic certificate delivery and improving accuracy. Any party can quickly verify a DBS e-Certificate by entering the Certificate Number and its Unique Tracking Number (UTN).
Ship Owners / Managers / Operators may request DBS Head Office to issue the electronic certificates for their ships, or request DBS Surveyor / Auditor to issue electronic certificates during the survey or audit on board their vessels, whereas they should place the User Manual on board vessels that have been issued with e-Certificates.
To verify an e-Certificate, simply click on the below verify button and enter the vessel’s details, as requested. If a certificate is valid, the certificate and its information including a View button of the e-Certificate will be provided. In the event that a certificate is not valid, the relevant message will appear.
