Vanuatu – Electronic copies of Certificates and Documents

Notice to: Ship Owners / Managers/ Operators / Surveyors / Auditors :

The Vanuatu Maritime Administration has published Fleet Safety Letter 021425.GEN, advising that copies of certificates and documents in electronic format issued by the Assistant Commissioner of Maritime Affairs and electronically communicated by any of the Vanuatu Logistics and Administration Services Limited Offices or Special Agents are acceptable in place of the originals until the originals may be placed on board at a convenient port, provided that the issue date of any copy does not exceed 90 days.

Electronic format means:

  • any document that can be accessed via a computer, whether stored on a hard drive, flash drive, CD, or available online;
  • any scanned or typed document that can be viewed digitally.

 

Scanned copies of certificates and documents, whether in digital or printed form, are deemed valid.
