Amendments to STCW Code

Notice to: Ship Owners/ Managers/ Operators

At its 108th session, the IMO Maritime Safety Committee adopted MSC.560(108) – Amendments to Part A of the Seafarer’s Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) Code. These amendments enter into force on 01 January 2026.

Table A-VI/1-4 of the Code (specification of minimum standard of competence in personal safety and social responsibilities) has been replaced. It is included as an Annex to MSC.560(108).

Act now

Ship owners, managers, and operators should ensure that all seafarers meet the new minimum competence standards as specified in the new Table A-VI/1-4.
