Recall of Dräger Saver CF Emergency Escape Breathing Devices
C26038| 24 August 2026
Notice to: Ship Owners / Managers / Operators / Surveyors / Auditors
This is to inform that Dräger Safety UK Ltd has issued a safety notification concerning certain Dräger Saver CF Emergency Escape Breathing Devices (EEBDs). The notification relates to a potential insufficient airflow issue that may affect the performance of the equipment during activation.
Insufficient Airflow in Saver CF EEBD Units
Dräger has identified several Saver CF EEBD units that may supply an insufficient volume of air upon activation. Reduced airflow could result in increased carbon dioxide (CO₂) build-up inside the hood and may negatively affect the wearer’s ability to remain comfortable and functional during an emergency.
Recommended Action
Dräger recommends that all affected units within the specified serial-number range be immediately removed from service where possible. If any affected units have been transferred or sold to a third party, the notification should also be forwarded to the relevant recipient.
Replacement units will be arranged through the local Dräger sales and service organisation. Any urgent requirements for replacement equipment should be communicated to the local Dräger representative.
All concerned personnel are requested to check the serial numbers of Dräger Saver CF EEBD units in use and take the necessary action in accordance with the manufacturer’s safety notification.
Affected serial number range: BSUD-0001 (April 2025) to BSUK-9999 (September 2025)
Act now
Ship Owners / Managers / Operators should take note of the circular and be guided accordingly.
