Approval of BWMS using Active Substances

This Circular is issued to advise that the IMO have issued a Circular – BWM.2/Circ34/Rev.13, on the 24th October 2024.

The circular supersedes BWM.2/Circ.34/Rev.12, and lists in Annex those ballast water management systems that use Active Substances and have received Basic and Final Approval.

An active substance is a substance or organism, including a virus or a fungus, that has a general or specific action on or against harmful aquatic organisms and pathogens.
