Belize – Administrative Fees for Statutory Certificates

Notice to: Ship Owners / Managers/ Operators / Surveyors 

The International Merchant Marine Registry of Belize (IMMARBE) has issued Merchant Marine Notice MMN-24-005 advising of changes to the administrative fees imposed by the Government of Belize for the issuance of Short-term Statutory Certificates. The Notice supersedes MSN-0039r1 and MMN-16-001.

A new fee of USD 75 will be introduced from 01 November 2024 for short-term certificates issued by authorized ROs and RSOs. This includes:

  • certificates issued when specific conditions are imposed on the ship, which will be regarded as short-term certificates with stipulations.
  • Vessels on single delivery voyages.

The fee for every annual, periodical, and intermediate endorsement of a Statutory Certificate issued by a RO/RSO on behalf of IMMARBE remains USD 50.

The fee for issuing a full-term Statutory, ISM, ISPS, MLC and CICA Certificate, including initial, renewal, change of Flag, change of Name or change of RO/RSO remains USD 100.

IMMARBE requests ROs and RSOs to:

  • Ensure proper implementation of the Merchant Marine Notice.
  • Report Full-term, Short-term Statutory, ISM, ISPS, MLC and CICA Certificates and Endorsements (annual, periodical, intermediate surveys/audits), as per MMN-23-003.
  • Report Statutory Surveys and Certification status for each statutory, ISM, ISPS, MLC and CICA certificate issued each month, within 10 calendar days of the following month as per TDF-030 and TDF-031.
  • Make payment of the above fees to IMMARBE quarterly, within the first 10 calendar days of the next quarter as per QAL-011.
