Mandatory P&I Insurance for Ships in Turkish Ports

This circular is issued to advise that the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure has issued a Circular E-36712415-155.09.01-2431.032 regarding Insurance Organizations registered in the Port Single Window (LTP) and the Port Management Information System (LYBS).

All vessels of 300 GT and above, arriving at or departing from port facilities within the Turkish maritime jurisdiction, must hold P&I insurance from a reputable company registered in the Port Single Window (LTP) and Port Management Information System (LYBS) within the scope of the relevant legislation.

Effective from 20 February 2025, vessels with P&I policies issued by insurance companies not approved or registered with LYBS will be denied access to Turkish ports and straits passages.
